I am going to speak for a few minutes about conversational hypnosis. This is a hypnosis technique that enables a person to have an influence over someone’s thoughts and actions and some people have become quite famous through perfecting this technique.

An example of a person who is very well known within the UK for his brilliant conversational hypnosis skills is a magician called Derren Brown. He is very often on TV putting these skills into practice with astonishing results.

In fact, Derren Brown is so talented when it comes to conversational hypnosis that he can make the vast majority of people forget anything he wants. An example of one of his situations is when he asked random people on an underground train to tell him which stop they were getting off at, so of course they told him.

When the person answered his question, Derren would then speak to them for a few moments. Next time he asks the question of where they will be getting off, they honestly cannot tell him. He then talks at them a bit more and miraculously they can remember their stop again.

Another episode featured Derren simply asking a man in the street to go to his own bank and withdraw 5000. Amazingly, the man willingly did this and handed the money over to Derren with no questions asked.

Derren then erased the memory from this persons mind and they had absolutely no idea that they had done this. Even when they were showed the video of the events taking place they still had no recollection of it.

This was just a demonstration of how conversational hypnosis works so the man did get his money back. However, as you’ve probably guessed, not everyone is as honest. For example, there was a incident in America whereby a hypnotist persuaded bank and shop workers to willingly hand him money which he then stole.

It is safe to say that conversational hypnosis is very strong when it is used. Therefore it is used for all sorts of things around the world – even curing an addiction.
